Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data we collect when you visit nepaliinfopedia.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
1. Who we are
Nepali Infopedia (the site at nepaliinfopedia.com) is owned and operated by NepaliInfopedia LLC, registered at 32 Washington Pl, New York, NY 10003, USA. We are the controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.
2. What we collect
We keep collection to a minimum. Depending on how you use the site, we may collect the following.
- Information you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message.
- Usage and analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site. This includes pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referring source and interaction events.
- Advertising and conversion data. Where advertising measurement is enabled, Google and its partners may set cookies or identifiers to measure ad performance and, where permitted, to show relevant advertising on other sites.
- Technical data. Our hosting infrastructure logs requests, including IP address, timestamps and user agent, for security and troubleshooting.
We do not ask for, and do not want to receive, sensitive personal data such as health information, government identity numbers or payment card details. Please do not send those through the contact form.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: keeping the site working, measuring readership through Google Analytics, and advertising measurement where that feature is active. Our Cookie Policy lists the categories and the main cookies used, and explains how to accept, decline or remove them.
4. Why we process your data and on what basis
- To reply to you - processing is necessary to respond to your message and to take steps at your request.
- To measure and improve the site - based on your consent, which you give or withhold through our cookie banner.
- To keep the site secure and available - based on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and maintaining service.
- To comply with the law - where we are required to retain or disclose information.
5. Third-party services
We use Google services, including Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement, and the site loads the Google tag (gtag.js) on every page. Google may process data as described in Google’s own privacy documentation, and may transfer data outside your country. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share contact form submissions with advertisers.
If you have accepted analytics or advertising cookies, you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing the site’s cookies in your browser; the consent banner will then appear again on your next visit.
6. How long we keep data
Contact form messages and correspondence are kept for up to 24 months so that we can follow up on corrections and requests. Aggregated analytics data is retained according to the retention setting configured in Google Analytics, normally 14 months. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and then deleted or overwritten.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict processing, or to withdraw consent. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under the GDPR, and residents of California have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy request”. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Children
This site is general-interest content and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We restrict access to correspondence to the people who need it, and we do not store contact form data on the public website. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending confidential information through web forms.
10. International transfers
Our service providers, including Google, may store and process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the law or in our practices. The “last updated” date at the top of the page will change when we do.
12. Contact
You can contact us by email at [email protected], by phone on +1-689-374-8328, or by post at NepaliInfopedia LLC, 32 Washington Pl, New York, NY 10003, USA.
